Next, calculate the number of moles
Now that you know how many grams of sodium sulfate are in one liter of solution, you can find out how many moles of sodium sulfate are in one liter of solution.
To do this, divide the number of grams of Na2so3 by the molecular weight (126.05 g/mol) of Na2so3. Then multiply this answer by 1 liter.
For example, if there were 99.6 grams of Na2so3 in one liter, there would be 0.9960/126.05=0.078 moles Na2so3 in one liter.
You can also convert liters to milliliters and use that to calculate moles; however, doing so may result in a slight difference in the number of moles due to the differences in volume between the two units.
Finally, calculate the amount of sodium ions
Now that you know the molar mass and the number of moles of sodium sulfate, you can calculate how many sodium ions are in your sample.
You do this by dividing the mass of sodium sulfate by the molecular weight of sodium sulfate (126.05 g/mol).
So, if you had 100 mg of Na2so3, there would be 1 ion of sodium per molecule of Na2so3. If you had 1000 mg, there would be 10 ions per molecule of Na2so3.
