Inverse functions are a special type of function. They change the direction of something you are trying to apply to something else.

Most of these functions have multiple values that you can enter into the function, making it more versatile. Some have only one value, making it easier to find the inverse of a function.
When using an inverse function, your answer may be different than if you used an unsatis-factively simple function. For example, finding the distance between two points requires finding the distance between four points, but when using the inverse functionality, only two points are needed!
Using technologys that help you find the inverse of functions can be helpful when programming or finding solutions to problems. Although these technologies do not always give you an answer that is exact, they are still helpful.
