According to Newton’s third law, action/reaction forces are constant throughout a space-time continuum. This means that when you’re walking around on the moon, your feet are still landing on the Earth.
Newton’s third law was one of the original laws of physics. In his time, no one knew what it meant, but later on in history, when scientists studied things at a closer range of accuracy, they found that it did mean something.
It meant that if you put a stone in water, and then moved away from where the stone was before, then the water would reach higher levels as pressure from the stone forcing its way up gets released. This meant that if you wanted to see something with high magnification, you had to go to a very high location!

The force on the smaller body is called an impulse and is described by Newton’s law. The term for this for a more large body is kinetic energy or energy put into motion.
In this case, the smaller body has more energy on it than the larger body and that makes sense because it’s in orbit around our planet.
The orbit takes time so it takes some time for that excess energy to “reacquire” itself and return as a gravitational field on the small moon.
