The battle between Apple and Google is one of technology, market share, and prestige. It’s also an argument about which company has the better brand.
But there are other reasons why people get drawn into this war. This article will go in depth as to what those differences are and how they affect your phone choice.
This article will talk about how different brands develop their products, how companies manage their relationships with third parties, and why some say that Samsung is more aggressive than Apple.
All of these factors play a part in creating the next generation smartphone platform. Let’s take a look at them!
Closing thoughts
It’s great to be able to choose from many smart devices, but it can sometimes feel like a lot of choices make choosing the best one harder. That’s why it’s important to know what features matter most to you, and who matches those needs well.
We hope you’ve found this information helpful in making your decision.
Both companies make phones
It is very easy to compare an Apple phone with an iPhone model, but what about comparing an LG or Motorola smartphone against one of the Samsung Galaxy models? This article will talk you through it!
It’s not always clear when reading reviews whether they are talking about the overall experience of using a smartphone, or if they are just focusing on one brand.
A lot of times, people will take a look at the price of a device before giving their review. While this is important, there are other features like apps that can add value to a phone.
This article will focus only on looking at the similarities between different brands, not which is better or worse.
Both companies make tablets
This article will talk about whether or not both Apple and Samsung are making their products similar to each other. It will also discuss why technology company brands matter and how they can influence your shopping experience.
First, let’s look at some examples of what I referred to as “brands that create false perceptions.” These are companies that use famous trademarks for marketing purposes.
I don’t think it is too much of an exaggeration to say that most people associate the word “Apple” with high quality electronics.
However, this isn’t always the case. For instance, I remember reading somewhere (can’t recall where) that HP was once considered to have higher quality equipment than Apple.
This perception stuck around even after the tech giant took over Compaq and destroyed its name. What happened next? They lost all credibility!
A few years later, when Amazon introduced the Kindle, many thought that HP would eventually take back the top spot in the market… but nope!
It seems like every time one brand releases something new, the others immediately follow suit. This creates a negative image of the original brand, which can be very difficult to break free from.
Why do we care so much about brands?
Because consumer confidence is key to having successful business relationships. If people don’t believe in a product, they won’t buy it.
Both companies make smart watches
As we already mentioned, Apple does not offer their own line of wearable technology at this time. They do have the popular iPhone that can be used as a smartphone with the addition of screen covers and headphones for making calls and listening to music. You can also use the phone as a camera if you add a case for it.
Google recently launched its very own watch called the Google Wearable Watch. It has some features such as being able to send messages and read emails, create new documents, and access maps. This watch is designed more for entertainment than practical uses.
Another company that makes smartwatches are Motorola. The company was bought out by Lenovo in 2013 but still runs an independent business. One of their main competitors is LG, which makes both smartwatch models and iPhones.
Both companies make TVs
As we already mentioned, not every company that calls themselves an “TV manufacturer” makes TV sets. Some of them produce large-screen smart televisions or even refrigerators! Others make featureless screens for use as furniture.
Most major tech brands have their own line of flat screen devices at this point (Google, Amazon, Apple), but what about some smaller ones?
That is where Samsung comes in. The South Korean technology giant produces both big and small screen TVs under different names like UNISIM, SAMI, RENESSA, ANDIGENA, YOUTUBE etc. They are all branded to promote either Samsung’s mobile phone products or its home electronics division.
Samsung also owns the word ‘TV’ itself so it has no trouble using it to describe their own product. This can sometimes be confusing though because they often change the definition depending on how marketing works for each brand.
The term ‘smart TV’ was first coined by Samsung back in 2014 when they released their Galaxy Note 4 smartphone with an integrated app called Channel Plus. It allowed you to control your device via voice command and connect to external services like Netflix. That same concept carried over into their newly rebranded AT&T TV service which launched earlier this year.
Since then, almost every other major television maker has copied and improved upon it. Even Sony made one now! But none of them use the name quite the way Samsung does.
Both companies make laptops
This is clearly not the case anymore, as both of these brands have entered the laptop market with their own devices. With that said, it seems like they are going in opposite directions when it comes to what features matter most to users.
At this year’s Mobile Expo event, I heard one talk about how some people feel that an ultra-thin device with only basic functions is enough for software engineers. For students who need easy access to educational resources, such as courses or textbooks, this may be the perfect fit.
For other professionals, however, being able to run heavier apps and use heavy productivity tools makes using this type of computer much more enjoyable. These individuals will likely find themselves looking elsewhere if ThinPad and Google become the new normal.
ThinPads still offer very durable laptops that can easily handle daily use, but those casual users will be dissatisfied by the lack of advanced features. On the other hand, many people prefer having a larger screen so they do not have to hold onto their laptop all the time.
Feature rich computers also cost more than thin ones, making them out of reach for most people. Companies such as Microsoft and Apple always seem to cater to the wealthy, which is why they enjoy popularity.
Both companies make gaming consoles
With both having their flagship phones that have quickly become ubiquitous status symbols, it seems like they could not exist without each other. And with each company’s CEO talking about how his or her platform will win out over the others in terms of usage, it almost feels like an inevitability at this point.
But what most people fail to realize is that before there were iPhones and Galaxy S series devices, there was no smartphone.
Before smartphones, people used feature-heavy clunky mobile technology that functioned more as a tool than an entertainment device.
With such technologies still around today (like Nokia’s old Nokias), I think it can be argued that smartphones didn’t really take off until we had something comparable to the console experience.
Something where you can easily access everything your phone has to offer, connect wirelessly to some of those things, and use intuitive software to access them. A place where you can truly enjoy using it instead of just putting it away because you “need” to do something else.
Both companies make flash memory
Flash memories are probably one of the most common components in today’s technology. They can be found anywhere from very expensive computer chips that contain vast amounts of information to small, powerful storage devices for mobile phones.
The way they work is by using an electric current to create a flow of electrons across a dielectric material. This electron flow is what represents 1=0 and 0=1 as there is no floor or ceiling to whether it has more electrons or not. It is thus referred to as having a lack of range.
The faster the speed this happens at, the faster computers can process data and images. And since computers already exist, people made them into smart gadgets!
One such gadget is your phone, which contains many different types of flash memory cards. Some have called their market dominance annoying due to how similar they look and how easy it is to use. But really, why should anyone else get credit for creating a successful product?
I believe that both companies deserve some respect because they created something incredible that took them years to perfect.
Both companies are making self-driving cars
Let’s look at some similarities between how both companies operate. First, they’re both developing their own proprietary software that will control their vehicles.
Second, both companies are investing heavily in AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology to make decisions for their vehicle.
Third, both company’s executives talk about the importance of having diversity in employees as well as in culture. They emphasize that it is important to have people who come from different backgrounds and believe in different things. This helps create open communication and unique ideas.
Fourth, both companies want to be seen as an industry leader, which means acting with confidence and stature. Executives convey this by talking about the achievements of the company in past years and what they plan to do in the future.
