The iPhone is a touch-screen phone created by Apple. The first iPhone was released in 2007 and since then, there have been several new models released every year.
The iPhones are known for their software features, such as the Siri virtual assistant, the App Store with thousands of apps, and its default keyboard.
The default keyboard on the iPhone has been the same since the original model. While it has changed little in appearance, some changes have been made under the keyboard.
Recently, some users have reported that they are having trouble typing on the keyboard. Some keys are harder to press down and others seem to be stuck until you shake the phone slightly. This can obviously cause some issues when trying to type something!
There has not necessarily been an official fix for this issue, but there are some ways to try and make your keyboard bigger on iPhone! Some of these fixes are cheap and easy, while others require more extensive work or money.
Tap and hold on keyboard icon
To access the keyboard settings, you need to tap and hold on the keyboard icon. This is located in the bottom left of the screen, next to the speech bubble icon.
Once you tap and hold, a menu will appear with an option to Open Keyboards Settings. Tap this button to open the keyboard settings menu. This can take some time depending on your device.
In the settings menu, you can choose your preferred language and then customize your keyboard. You can change your keyboard style, add emojis and gifs to your keyboard, and even rearrange the buttons.
There are lots of different keyboard styles to choose from, so you are sure to find one that you like.
Select bigger keys
If you do not like the shape of the keys, you can choose to have larger keys instead. This feature makes the entire keyboard bigger, including the space between the keys.
This feature also adjusts the size of the letters on each key. So, for example, the B key would be bigger than the V key. This way, you can still type quickly despite having to focus on which key you are pressing.
Some people find this feature helpful due to various reasons. Some people have thin fingers and find it hard to press the right key due to that. By making the keyboard bigger, it makes it easier for them to type. Some people have thicker fingers and find it hard to press down on the keys due to that.
Install bigger keyboard icon
If you do not like the default keyboard, you can always install a third-party keyboard. There are many keyboards to choose from, so look around and find one you like!
There are some great keyboards that have more features than the default keyboard. Some even have a bigger keyboard icon feature. Check out our list of best keyboards for more options.
Some of them even have a separate number pad, which is helpful for typing out long numbers and addresses. Some even have emojis built into the keyboard, which saves you time going through the emoji menu.
Having a third-party keyboard can also help prevent some phone vulnerabilities like spyware. Since some apps rely on having access to your keyboard, having a different one can prevent some apps from working properly.
Buy a case
If you are not willing to go fullscreen, then the next best thing is to buy a case for your phone. A case will protect your phone from drops and scratches, and can be an aesthetic addition to your phone.
There are many cases to choose from, so look for one that has a built-up edge to protect the screen, and covers the front of the phone enough so that when it is faced down, the screen will not get scratched.
Some cases have removable covers which can be replaced with different ones. This is a great feature to have as it helps keep your phone fresh and new. You can find sellers who sell custom made cases with these features online.
However, note that having a thicker case may make it harder to press some of the buttons on the side of the phone.
Move your finger closer to the edge of the screen
If you are having a hard time reaching an app, feature, or area of the screen, try hovering your finger closer to the edge of the screen.
The phone recognizes proximity of your finger to the edge of the screen and displays what is on the other side. This is how apps like Instagram and TikTok have a larger space for your face in front of the camera.
By hovering your finger over the camera icon, it automatically switches to the front camera. This saves you time switching screens or going into settings to switch cameras.
When you are having trouble reaching an app icon, try moving your finger closer to the edge of the phone and see if that pulls up a new menu or function.
Ask for help from an expert
If you are really serious about learning how to use the iPhone, then you should ask for help from an expert. You can ask your friends or family, your co-workers, or even a local shop that sells iPhones.
They will be more than happy to help you learn how to use the device and all of its features. Even if they do not work at the Apple store, they probably know a lot about the devices.
Their main goal is to help you learn how to use your new iPhone and make it the best device for you.
If none of these people offer to help you, then go to the Apple store and ask someone who works there for some tips and tricks. They will be more than happy to help you out.
