The battery life of your phone is a fundamental part of having and using a phone. Since phones have become such an integral part of our everyday lives, it is important to have access to how to watch and care for your phone’s battery.
iPhone users can now show the battery percentage on their device thanks to a new feature in the latest iOS 12 beta. This makes it much easier to keep track of your battery compared to having to check the Battery Percentage on your Settings menu every time!
This feature is very easy to find and use, so anyone who wants to check their battery percentage quickly and easily can do so now. This is a great way to monitor how long you have left before you need to charge your phone.
Select “Battery”
To show the battery percentage on your iPhone, you must first access the Battery menu. You can do this by opening the Settings app and selecting Battery.
Here, you can see how much battery you have left, how long it will take to charge, and how many hours you have used your phone since the last charge. You can also see which apps are using the most battery.
Under the Battery Health option, it shows if your battery is healthy or needs to be replaced. This is a new feature with iOS 12 that helps alert you if your battery is failing. It does this by monitoring voltage levels and whether or not it fluctuates. If it does, then it sends out the warning about replacing the battery.
The Settings app also has a section called Battery Percentage. To access this, go to Settings>Battery and toggle the button next to “Show in Checkout” to “On.
Under the “Battery” section, select “Show Percentage”
This option allows you to always see the battery percentage at the top of your screen, next to the wireless and battery icon. This can be convenient if you constantly watch your phone’s battery level.
However, this can become a distraction if you do not pay attention to the full-screen alert that appears when your phone reaches a low battery level.
If you are someone who needs plenty of cell phone battery life, this may not be the best option for you. The constant visibility of the battery can trick you into thinking you have more power than you actually do.
You can turn off this feature if it causes too much confusion or stress for you. Luckily, you can return to this setting at any time if you decide that it is helpful for you.
Switch on the toggle button
To show the battery percentage on your iPhone, you will first need to switch the feature on. You can do this in Settings > Battery.
Here, you can also choose whether you want your phone to keep monitoring your battery while it’s off charge or if it should stop monitoring when it reaches a certain point. This is useful if you are about to charge your phone and need a accurate estimate of how much power it has left.
By clicking the Battery Percentage icon, you can also choose whether or not the icon appears in the Control Center and on the Lock Screen. This is a nice way to keep track of how much battery you have left!
If for some reason you want to hide the battery percentage, then simply turn off the “Show in Bar” option.
That’s all! Your battery percentage will now appear next to the battery icon
Now you know how to show battery percentage on iPhone! This is a nice little feature that many people appreciate.
Since the iPhone X, Apple has been incorporating Wireless charging into their phones. This allows you to charge your phone using a wireless charger instead of a cable.
While wireless charging is great, it can be tricky to tell how much charge you have left on the phone. You must first have a wireless charger and then must check the app for the charge.
Since there is no physical connection from the phone to the charger, it is hard to tell how much charge is remaining.
You can also check how much battery power your app is using by going to Settings > Battery > App Usage
This will show you how much battery power individual apps are using over a certain period of time. You can then adjust your app usage based on this information.
For example, if you check your app usage at 8 AM and your phone is at 100% battery, then by 8 PM your phone is at 50% battery, you can infer that the app is using up some battery power during the entire day.
You can either lower the frequency of use for the app or update the app to the latest version to see if there are any improvements in battery usage.
There are also apps that can monitor app battery usage so that you do not have to constantly go to the settings to check. These include Battery Save and Battery Monitor IClean*.
Select which apps you want to see battery percentage for
Once in the Settings > Battery section, you can view detailed battery usage for the last 24-hours, 12-hours, 6-hours, and the last hour.
Below that, you can see how much time you have left on battery depending on your usage. This is a great way to see how efficient your phone is being used!
Below that, you can see which apps are using the most battery and sort them by amount of battery used. This allows you to see which apps are draining your battery and may need to be deleted or adjusted.
By clicking the box next to Off Screen Time, you can choose whether or not you want this feature enabled. If you do not want this feature enabled, then your phone will stop tracking your screen time and therefore not show the exact amount of time spent on your phone.
Change the view order of the battery icons on the lock screen and home screen
You can also choose what icons appear on the lock screen and home screen battery icon row. By default, the phone shows the phone, messenger, and email icons, with the total number of notifications as the battery level indicator.
You can add other apps as icons, including the clock app or a weather app to have a better sense of what battery level it is. You can also add a music or Spotify icon to have your favorite tunes ready at any time!
To do this, go to Settings > Battery > View Order and select Clock, Music App, Email, Messenger, Phone. This will put the clock as the first icon on the lock screen and home screen battery icon row.
To add other apps as icons, go to Settings > Battery > Apps & Games Screen Time Limit and turn Off. This will remove the app limit notification from your lock screen.
See how much time is left until your phone is charged fully
Now that you can see the battery percentage, you can tell how much time is left until your phone is charged fully. This is helpful when you are waiting for your phone to charge and you need it quickly.
You will know how much time you have to use your phone before it needs to be charged. This prevents having no phone due to no charge or a dead battery!
Some phones offer a feature that shows you how long it will take to charge your phone based on the current charger and source of power. You can check if this feature is available on your phone by searching for it.
If not, then you can try searching for apps that show time until full charge on your phone model.
