Incandescent
Incandescent bulbs were the original bright lightbulbs. They were a tinier disk of metal that turned on and gave you a soft, warm light.

Fluorescent

These bulbs are usually rated by their brightness, with smaller bulbs being less bright than larger ones. This is due to the fact that smaller diameter lights require more power to produce a brighter image.
There are two main categories of fluorescent bulb: A regular fluorescent bulb and the quantum dot bulb. Both have similar characteristics except for the color.
The quantum dot bulb is able to produce a slightly colored light instead of the clear, white standard fluorescent bulb.
Natural light
There are three types of light bulb: halogen, CFL, and LED. All three types of light bulb use a different level of light.
A halogen bulb is the brightness of normal sunlight. A CFL is the brightness of regular electric light bulbs. An LED is the brightest light possible, nearly equivalent to a daylight bulb.
Most homes today have an average of two kinds of lightbulbs: a regular old halogen or CFL, and an older but still useful LED bulb. Both kinds can be used with modern home appliances, so there is no real reason to get rid of one kind unless the appliance needs a newer bulb.
Most home appliances work with either type of bulb today, making getting the right kind of light every day easy.

You can find some bulbs in the dark sky area. Some companies offer bulbs that are rated for a darksky area designation. These are usually only economical if you have a lot of window space, as these would be limited to only one window area.
These would be useful if you had some interior or exterior windows that were not safe from freezing temperatures, or if you had large rooms that were uninspiring without lighting up the place.

A solar-powered bulb is a pretty cool idea! These bulbs can be plugged into a standard household outlet and will begin to generate electricity when the electricity at the outlet is low. The bulb will then begin to shine its light, thanks to the energy it receives.
