Test the click buttons on the laptop
After reassembling your laptop, you should test all of the click buttons, including the power button, the volume up and down buttons, the mute button, and the keyboard arrows.
Do this by having the laptop running in Windows Safe Mode with Command Prompt. You can do this by pressing and holding the Power button then tapping Unplug in Quick Access Control while the computer is off.
Once it’s off, hold down the Shift key and then turn it back on. It will ask you to select an option, just click Command Prompt and let it boot into that.
